A hearty, cheesy ground beef dish with Hamburger Helper, family-friendly and ready in 30 minutes. Customize with your favorite proteins or veggies.
1 lb lean ground beef
1 tbsp olive oil
1 packet Hamburger Helper Original (or 8 oz dry noodles)
½ cup boiling water
1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp tomato paste (optional)
Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Remove from heat briefly.
Brown ground beef in the pan, breaking into small pieces until no pink remains (7–10 minutes). Drain excess fat.
Stir in salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and tomato paste.
Add Hamburger Helper mix (or noodles) and boiling water, stirring until thickened into a dough-like consistency.
Spread mixture into an 8×8-inch baking dish. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top.
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15–20 minutes until cheese is golden. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
